Fashionably Late. Honor Society

Honor Society

Hopefully, you've heard them. If you've been reading over the past few months, they're a favorite to write about. This amazing band just officially released their debut album on Tuesday. It's aptly named "Fashionably Late." Their EP "A Tale of Risky Business" was released in May of last year. They said an album would come.. and the time kept getting changed.. but at long last.. with Excellent timing.. everything was set.

Click the picture to buy the album at their official merch store. You can also buy a copy at Target & get the bonus DVD of their Irving Plaza show earlier this year. and of course, you can use iTunes and purchase when you Search "Honor Society."

Recently, KiisFM's Kidd Kraddic radio show (around the nation) aired "Over You," Honor Society's new single from the album. Be sure to request it on your local KissFM!

R&N- 09/09/09 - Evening News

Last night was pretty exciting. Honor Society's new single "Over You" battled on 101.3 KDWB (in 'the Twin Cities').

The DJ said after the "overwhelming amount of text votes", it was easy to tell the winner.
In honor of the victory, Honor Society fans decided to get #NoDuh Trending on Twitter because the gentlemen of Honor Society are bringing back the use of that phrase. Within the hour, #Noduh was on the Top 10, and inevitably "Honor Society" became a trending topic also. :)

time is CST

I found this sicfloating around amongst my friends. It's a rap remix to "Over You" by konflict5206 on Youtube. It's sicknasty amazing. I love it!

Also, check out tonight for Push Play's livechat on Facebook/Ustream at 8pm ET/5pm CT. They'll be talking about their fall tour. RSVP here. Watch Here.

R&N - 06/15/09 - Evening News

The hottest album of the summer is already out (12am Eastern) June 16th!
Which album is that? "Lines, Vines, & Trying Times" from the Jonas Brothers. This is their 4th studio album as a group. I'm so proud of them. This album features hip hop artist, Common, on the track "Don't Charge me for the Crime." This is the most mature Jonas album to date. They have added a horn section, and have more string instruments. "Poison Ivy" sounds kind of silly at first, but when you get to the core of it, it's intense loathing. "Everybody gets the itch. Everybody hates that.."

Yeah, they went there. Makes me wonder who "that.." is. haha. But I'm not speculating here. Also, for some reason Miley Cyrus is on "Before the Storm." I probably shouldn't comment further, but if you don't like her, just don't listen to the track. :) Yup. that's my solution, anyways...

BUY the album! where ever CDs are sold or on iTunes! If you pre-ordered, you should already have it.. or it will be there tomorrow. I have mine. I LOVE it.

The Jonas Brothers World Tour kicks off in the states THIS Saturday June 20. Where else, but Nick J's hometown.. Dallas. In this case, Arlington, at the new Cowboys Stadium. Opening for them are Honor Society. I'm too proud of them for words. Also Jordin Sparks will be singing on the tour, too.

R&N - 06/03/09- Evening News

Last night/ this morning at 2am Central time, (I counted down) Push Play's hot new single "Midnight Romeo" launched on Myspace. Check it out! When I say "This track is HOT".. I never say that. So I definitely mean it. Oh, & it may just be on the radio in the next month or 2. Just sayin. :) I'm kinda in love with this song. Crazy edgy-romantic. Also on their page are new interviews! Check them out when u click the picture below.

Also, more Honor Society news/video from MTV Buzzworthy blog. haha, Tamar is funny.
Tomorrow at 5pm ET/ 2pm PT, Honor Society will be announcing even MORE news! Who's excited? *raises hand* MEEE! Stay tuned at their myspace page. & follow them on Twitter! Their pictures during recording are so funny.

& Clip of the Week.. maybe even the Year! Joe Jonas loves his fans & sticks to his word.
In February, the Jonas Brothers posted a video "You Decide" what you want to see. So the fans picked Choice B. & WOW. They posted the video & Twittered it at around 12:15pm Central today. By 3pm, it became not 1 trending topic, but 2!

Actually it's 8pm central & Single Ladies has moved up to #4 on Trending. hahaha!

Warning: it's best not to be drinking or eating or operating machinery when watching. EPIC! I gasped. I cried, couldn't breathe, and snorted all from laughing SOO hard. This is reDonk-ulous. :D

So here it is folks, for those who haven't yet seen this.. or those who just want to watch it for the 40th, 60th, or 500th time: Joe Jonas dancing to "Single Ladies" by Beyonce.

So, make sure you request "Paranoid" on your radio stations! Pre-order their new album! it's only $15 on Jonasbrothersmerch.com! Also, they're having another Facebook livechat tomorrow at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific. RSPV & Be there!

Also, yesterday, Honor Society was in San Diego for Frankie V's radio show. & later had a PPP (Pinkberry Parking lot Party) hanging out with fans.. whoever saw their Twitter update & could make it.
Here they are singing a new song they wrote called "Over You"

They will have a show in San Diego at the House of Blues on Friday, April 24. Get your tickets now! Ticketmaster.

Since I have included Push Play in previous posts, I will include that they are in a contest on Radio Disney for the "Next Big Thing." All you need to do is vote their 2 songs 5 Stars. :)

R&N - 03/25/09 - Evening News

Lots of interesting events recently:

Here's Long Island band, Push Play, who created a mock video for their fairly new song "Covergirl". I personally think the video is pretty amusing.

& Vote for them to win the contest on KIIS FM in California. (They're near the bottom of the left column.)

Their bulletin from this morning:
Yessssss! Middle of the week hump and anticipation for the rollllll into the weekend of fun, fun, fun! EVERYONE!!! DID YOU CHECK OUT OUR HOMEGROWN GUERRILLA STYLE MUSIC VIDEO OF COVERGIRL? We entered it into a KIIS FM contest. Here's the link: http://www.kiisfm.com/pages/breakoutstar/voting.html. Please vote for it and tell all your friends to vote for it! Would be thoroughly amazing if we won the $10,000 because every cent of it would go directly to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
PURPOSE!!!!! "

I have mentioned the Gentlemen of Honor Society multiple times during my writing for Music Forecast. In fact, my first article (last June) was about them. Well, they have recently acquired Twitters and all except Andrew Lee have their own Blogspot. Sooo, follow them! duh. ;)

Michael: Twitter (RiskyBusinessMB) & Blog
Jason: Twitter (theRoser) & Blog
Andrew: Twitter (IAMtheCOMMODORE)
Alex: Twitter (thePISTOL) & Blog

If you live in the Los Angeles area or you just happen to be there this weekend, you can win tickets to their show at the House of Blues this Saturday at 8pm. 102.7 KIIS FM is giving away tickets all week. & you shouldn't go without knowing the Honor Roll. See video. :) & learn here.

On a sad note, Stephanie M. Gotz, an original member of the Jonas Brothers' street team, passed 1 year ago today. There are quite a few videos dedicated to her. This is just one, with the very fitting song from the Jonas Brothers that they wrote for their grandmother entitled "Eternity"

Here's another video, mainly pictures. I didn't know her or get to talk to her, but I heard/read from her friends & other fans she was really fun and a wonderful friend. RIP S.M.G. "It's not Goodbye, but I know and I believe.. I will see u in Eternity."

R&N - 12/04/08 - Evening News Pt. 2

Recent Updates on Upcoming bands

Exactly a week ago, people in the United States, like me, celebrated Thanksgiving. I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Now this Thanksgiving was very special for multiple reasons.

Long Island band, Push Play, made their first Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade performance. They announced this around March or so of this year on 1 of their live chats... & the day finally came. If you were watching CBS @ 10:25 ET/CT, you saw them appear on the HESS truck float. If you were watching NBC @ 10:45 ET/CT, you saw them appear on the HESS truck float AND sing their new song "Covergirl." I blogged about them in June. Congrats, guys!

While I'm talking about the Macy's parade, I'll mention a band I have not written about... yet. A group called Varsity Fanclub performed their hit single "Future Love" (available on iTunes) on another float in the parade. I quite loved it.

Push Play on the Hess truck float
(courtesy Shine-On Media)

If you watched the Dallas football game, you would have seen Demi Lovato, who recently turned 16, sing the national anthem. What an honor for her! She grew up in the Dallas area, and her mother used to be a cheerleader for the Cowboys. That girl has a beautiful voice. You go, girl! Her debut album "Don't Forget" is amazing. She wrote songs and also co-wrote some with the Jonas Brothers. Buy it if you haven't already. Demi's next show will be at the Wiltern in Los Angeles @ 8pm.

"Star Spangled Banner" sung by Demi Lovato (Thanksgiving)

Also, New Jersey band, Honor Society, traveled to the Texas Stadium to perform a free tail gate show, including Meet & Greets. Michael, Alex, Andrew, & Jason recently did 3 shows on the west coast, opening for their friends, the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato. "Don't Close the Book" turned into a duet with the Jonas Brothers that amazed everyone. The gentlemen of Honor Society are nominated 2x on musiqtone.com's Musiqwards. So use all your votes & help them win "Indie Artist of the Year" & "Indie Song of the Year" for "See U in the Dark." If you're already friends with them on myspace, be sure to add your local street teams. It helps a lot. Read more about them in my June article.

New music. it's awesome. duh.

Hey there! 1st post from me (RiaB. / Hermione). I don't know how much of an intro I need, but I'll just say, I'm kinda slightly taking after my brother. lol.
I may or may not be posting here regularly, but I have been finding out about cool musicians.
Here's some new music you may not have heard.

The gentlemen of Honor Society can really rock. Who are they? Michael Bruno, Andrew Lee, Jason Rosen, and Alex Noyes (former Jonas Brothers’ back-up drummer).

As they say, "We do not play shows... We throw parties!"

Genre: well, on their myspace it says

HONOR SOCIETY
Rock / Pop / Hip Hop

So that’s what I’m going with. It's a cross between Prince and Fall Out Boy. The singles on their MySpace … AMAZING. Buy the LP. It’s totally awesome. & I think "See You In the Dark" is pretty addictive.

Acoustic Version of "This Bed is an Ocean"

Also, they do this skit called "The Gentlemen's Club." It's highly entertaining.. and gentlemanly. (right now there are 7 episodes. Here's the first to start you off.)

The Gentlemen's Club - Episode 1:

Their new merchandise site is up and running now (as of Friday). They’ve played around New York and New Jersey. They held their EP release party/concert @ the Knitting Factory. I heard it was amazing! (I’m not in the area to go.)

BTW, they held a pre-Camp Rock party on JTV (Justin.tv). It was highly entertaining. They’re funny… answered some questions, played a song by request, danced, & some other stuff you would just have to tune in to find out about. Haha.

PopStar magazine’s NEW August issue has an article about them. So check that out, too.
