R&N - 12/08/07 - EXLCUSIVES!

Hey folks,

50 Cent - Coke At The Concert?!

I didn't think it would be THAT big a deal... 50 is always on some shadiness within the crew... It's like his crew got diplomatic immunity... When's the last time that you heard something that crewe got in trouble with, and it didn't somehow get downplayed... No one's even talkin' about how Yayo smacked up that kid a while back...

Anywayz, here's the clip if you haven't seen it yet...

The Dream - Divorces His Shawty?!

That's such a shame... But it turns oiut that Dream is leaving his wife, Nivea AND their daughter. Even worse, the girl he's leaving her for is IN his new "Falsetto" video... Wow... You can say so much on that? What's been going with dude? Is this a publicity stunt or what?! Doesn't he think his Shawty Is A 10?... Ugh... I may post on this later...

Sean Kingston - Promoting Intel?!

Wow... Dude's song is kinda hot... AND he's promoting Intel in his new video, Gotta Move Faster... I see him doing an Intel commercial soon. :-p

Bun B - Interview at The Box!

I try not to post twice a day, just for y'all who don't check daily, but this is BIG news y'all need to check out...

Bun B was on the radio on 97.9 The Box in Houston, talking about the whole Pimp C incident, how they came together, how he felt about Pimp C, how he wasn't going to do the tracks, "One Day", "Pocket Full Of Stones", AS WELL AS How "International Player's Anthem" came together!

You NEED to listen to this!

R&N- 12/07/07 - EXCLUSIVES

MF 3.0's tribute to Pimp C

The pimp is finally free! Hope yall been 'bumping your UGK tracks this week. Lil Flip has done a tribute song to him that I'm let yall hear. Oh and don't believe the rumors, nothing has been confirmed yet that Pimp C was found with prescription drugs, as of now his death was by natural concerns. UGK was also just nominated for two grammy awards on Thursday. Man. May he R.I.P.

Grammy Nominees...

Grammy nominated were announced yesterday and Kanye led the pack with EIGHT nominations. Kanye West's nominations dominate the rap field, with nominations for the Best Rap Album and double nominations in the Best Rap Song category - with both "Can't Tell Me Nothing" and "Good Life" vying for the award. Graduation is also in competition for Album of the Year. Other notable nominees were Jay Z, Timbaland, Justin Timberlake with 5, Akon with 4, Common and T.I. both with three, and Beyonce, 50, and Alicia Keys with two. The 50th Annual Grammy Awards will be handed out on February 10, 2008 at Los Angeles' Staples Center. For a full list of nominations visit grammy.com.

Jay-Z on his way out?

Jay-Z's 3-year contract is soon to expire and rumor has it Jay is demanding a steep pay increase. Sources close to the situation say that Jay-Z's demands are too high for what is reasonable in the industry today. They also say with him being in and out of retirement he is never in the office that long to demand such a pay. Another source also says L.A. Reid has no problem with Jay Z and that negotiations are very positive. Hmm, only time will tell.

Jaheim teams w/ Keisha Cole
Jaheim is showin' off his lungs with this track titled I've changed. Jahiem's new album "The Makings of a Man" drops December 18th.

Wyclef Jean is all about the C.R.E.A.M.

Wyclef who's album dropped this past Tuesday has remixed his "Sweetest Girl" joint and put Raekwon in the mix. The song is relatively the same but he flipped it and put it to Meth's - C.R.E.A.M beat. Peep the vid.

Enjoy the weekend people and VOTE. - Dilly

R&N - 12/06/07 - EXLCUSIVES!

Hey folks,

I don't know how much steam this new Jaheim album is getting, but here's the new video.
Audio:
Jaheim - Never
Video:

Now here's a preview of J. Lo's new vid... You think it's gonna sell?... All new image after having twins... Doing It Well didn't really grow on me.. Maybe it's because I still think of Freaky Tah - Lights, Camera, Action when the beat is on... Just like when I hear Jenny From The Block, I think about Beatnuts - Watch Out Now. I'm still skeptical on J. Lo's new album... Check it out...
J Lo- Hold It, Don't Drop It

Now, here's an album, that's I've almost got, lol. Seems like it's gonna be pretty hot... From what I've heard, it has 12 tracks that were recorded in 9 days... Sounds almost like Blueprint, lol. But hey, Jay and Dream musta got inspiration from each other... Jay did Blueprint in that time period and now Dream. Dream sang about not needing a hook, and Jay felt he didn't "need a hook" for this hit... :-p More on that later...
Audio:
The Dream - Falsetto
Video:

Saigon - Come on Baby
Here is the original, but the Remix with Jay-Z is RIDICULOUS!

R&N - 12/05 /07 - PIMP C Update + EXCLUSIVES!

Pimp C Update

Alright folks... This is the news so far...

Statement from Jive Records:

"It is with great sadness that Jive Records announces the passing of Chad "Pimp C" Butler, a member of the celebrated rap duo UGK (Underground Kingz). Jive Records' President and CEO Barry Weiss states: "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront. He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family and Bun B. I've known Chad since he was 18, and we loved him dearly and he was a cherished member of the Jive family."

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Butler's father was a trumpet player who played professionally with Solomon Burke. Outside of his father, the 33-year old rapper's influences varied, ranging from Bobby Bland, Jimmy McGriff, the 1960's Motown artists to Run DMC. Butler met his inseparable partner Bernard "Bun B" Freeman in high school where they formed UGK. In 1992, the duo signed to Jive Records and went on release a total of eight albums for the label. They earned their highest achievement earlier this year when their most recent album, UGK (Underground Kingz), debuted in the number one position on the album pop chart. According to the New York Times, UGK "helped inspire a generation of Southern hip-hop stars, from OutKast to Lil Wayne."

Bun B is not available for comment at this time."

Sad stuff to hear... The South will be mourning for a while on this one...

12/04 - Breaking News

Pimp C dies at age 33

Southern rap...nah, HIP HOP legend, Pimp C one half of rap duo, UGK, was found dead today by police today in his hotel bed at the Mondrian Hotel in Hollywood, California. The annoucement of his death is a shock to all of his fans, and I wish I didn't have to post this story. Pimp C, 33, was in L.A. performing with labelmate Too Short just last night, but still no word on the cause of death for Chad Butler. Pimp C. who holds a lot of respect in the rap game, as we all saw during the Free Pimp C campaign, will be deeply missed. Again, Chad Butler a.k.a Pimp C, dead on Dec 4, 2007 at age 33.
