Testimony Thursday

Hey folks,

Check out this powerful message from Cliford Gresseau. He speaks about how he had joined competing gangs, dealt drugs, became an addict and much more... Yet God still saw fit to have him doing what he's now doing today. And by the time it is complete, you will see how big of an impact he's been able to make in the Kingdom, by the grace of God. When God plans something for your life, no one can take that away. Enjoy.

Testimony Thursday

Hello everybody,

Today, I just wanted to share with you all a story I had heard about this week. A person by the name of Antoine Dodson was made famous because of a video that went viral a few years ago after an interview after an intrusion in his home. He has currently been working on himself personally as well as following the commandments of the Lord.
(Disclaimer: While I don't fully agree with some of his remarks, I do believe that his current stance may lead him to a deeper relationship with the Lord.) I pray that this blesses somebody. Check out his testimony.

The Device of Pornography

We’ve yet to understand the power of pornography. Though we know that it is a problem, the church has yet to see how detrimental this device is. Pornography is more than lewd images. Pornography is a ploy to pull you away from people. Though it is not unheard of for porn to be viewed in a group setting; it is usually an individual thing. This is truly a device where you can see the three facets of the enemy (kill, steal, destroy) in play. It steals time and funds. It kills relationships and bonds. It destroys perceptions and mindsets regarding intimacy and love. While pornography has been assigned as “one of those things that young people (usually referring to boys) do,” the church must not accept this as a normal phase. It is so important that we understand the power of relationships. In Genesis 2:18, God said that it was not good for man to be alone. So, there must be something to relationships. It is my humble opinion that the best way to come against this device is through acknowledgement and accountability. In order for you to truly move into a delivered state, you must admit that something has you bound. Once, this has happened you’ve got to find people who you can trust to keep you accountable. You must surround yourself with those who will strengthen you in your weak moments. You must be around those who will speak truth regardless! A few years back, Kirk Franklin came clean about his struggle with pornography. He had a series of interviews via television and magazine about his testimony. The video below is a short interview with Mr. Franklin about his struggle and recovery. Also, we've included an awesome video about confession by Tenth Avenue North. This video does an amazing job of discussing the pain and power of confessing your sins. Be blessed!

Hey folks,

Time for another installment of Testimony Thursday. I know that this testimony may be a bit dated for some, but at the same time, people are getting saved and leaving the secular hip-hop industry. But this is by far one of my favorites. Not only did he leave a multi-platinum rap group, but was able to use his past for the glory of God. Check it out and see what I'm talking about. Enjoy.

Hey folks,

Check out this testimonial from Hansoul. You may remember him from '91 when he was signed to Epic.

Hansoul

Now, check out one of his newer songs, aptly titled, The Cross.

The Cross

Label: FMG-Fishermen Ministry-Media Group

Quick Bio: HanSoul ("Hans") is a disciple with unshakeable principles affirmed through Jesus Christ. The Philadelphia native hit the scene in 1991, with the hit song Imagination that went to the top 10 on Billboard's rap charts (1991). Hans was the second rap artist signed to Epic/Sony records in 1991. He has also completed and album with Loud/RCA records in 1994. Though Hans experienced massive amounts of exposure and success, it was not enough to put an end to the insatiable pain, depression, drug-usage and confusion. In the year of 1995, during his darkest days he pleaded with the Lord Jesus Christ to give him a new life. Christ answered his prayer by compelling him to completely surrender himself and rededicate his life to Him.

Hey folks,

Check out Testimony Thursday featuring one of the most popular Christian rappers today. UNT Alumni, Lecrae Moore.

Lecrae spoke with CNN about his childhood, not growing up with a father, his former drug dealing and what helped turn his life around.

Rehab is a statement, a message to all that while there is much wrong in this world, there is a way to reshape your life, he said. We all need a sense of purpose, but we're all a bit messed up.

“We are fractured; this is a fractured world, but there is rehabilitation available through Jesus,” he said. “He came to save. He came to restore.”
