Gospel Sunday - Pastor Betha's Interview Pt. 2

Sorry I ended up skipping a week, but I'm back...

Even though there is speculation that Mase is trying to come back into the rap game, I'm not so sure... and if anything, what capacity it will be in.. I'm honestly waiting for him to speak on it... I want to see about this one... Whatever the case may be, there's some things that he spoke on that prove true.

In this part of the interview, I'm getting a couple of things out of it...

God doesn't deal with us based on our past... If so, we'd all have "hell to pay"... literally... You could have been a drug dealer, a prostitute, a murderer, etc, and if you let Him, God can still use you. As long as you're living, it's never too late. In the interview, Mase tells of how Paul (formerly Saul) murdered many Christians and God STILL used him to bring people to the church. (Acts 9) That just goes to show the mercy and grace of God. "His mercies are new every morning." (Lamentations 3:22-23)

He talks about how when he was little, the doctors said that he wouldn't be able speak. After having been a successful rap career, and now becoming a pastor, clearly they were wrong about him. This happens a lot in the world... God chooses “the foolish things of the world to shame the wise." (1 Corinthians 1:27) Not just because he can, but to show people that "All things are possible to him who believes.'" (Mark 9:14-23 )

He also speaks on a "prophetic voice" that certain people have... On a serious tip, I truly believe that certain musical artists have enough influence to speak to people's lives, whether it be positively or negatively. No offense to some of these rappers out here, but if you can get a hot beat, and just speak foolishness on a track and sell... We've all heard at least one song on the radio, and ponder why it's worth playing on the radio... It honestly makes sense...

My last point of interest is this... and this is just wondrous to even fathom... But Pastor Betha says that if the Enemy was willing to give you millions up front for your gift, how much would it be worth to the Kingdom? You can completely see this as a "cash advance" that many artists get when they are signed... Then, when they blow up, they have thousands of fans at their concerts singing their songs and screaming their names... Imagine if those songs they performed, the voice they were given were used to bring people to Christ? What would the world be like? Something to ponder...

Have a great weekend,

God Bless,
AB
