GOSPEL REPRESENTED!!!
Good Sunday to all!!!! Hope all are 'juvinated for another week. Anywho...we all know that The 2008 Essence Festival went down and "is" going down currently this weekend. And with all the performances such as Jill Scott, Kanye, Rhi Rhi and LL Cool J rippin the stage...one would wonder if ALL music was represented at the music festival.
TODAY, On Sunday, Preservation Hall stages its first-ever "Gospel Revival" at Essence in three acts. Preservation Hall drummer Joe Lastie and the 15-person Lastie Family Gospel Choir released "Joseph Lastie Jr. & the Lastie Family Gospel" through Preservation Hall's in-house record label this spring. They'll be joined byLeo Jackson & the Melody Clouds Quartet and many more. Revival kicks off at 7:30 p.m. in the Chevy Superlounge in the Louisiana Superdome.
